Spot Gloss Business Cards add a selective high-shine UV finish to specific areas of your design, creating contrast against matte, uncoated, silk, or velvet-style paper surfaces. This finish is commonly used to highlight logos, names, patterns, borders, icons, backgrounds, and other design details with a clean glossy effect.
This product is set up as a flexible spot gloss option with multiple cardstock choices. Depending on the selected stock and production setup, spot gloss may be applied as a flat spot UV finish or as a raised spot UV effect on qualifying specialty configurations. This makes it a good choice for customers who want a more custom business card without moving into full foil, embossing, or other specialty card sections.

Spot Gloss Mask File: Spot gloss orders require a separate mask file showing where the gloss should be applied. Please use solid 100% black for gloss areas and white for areas with no gloss.
Design Tip: Spot gloss works best on bold logos, clean typography, borders, simple patterns, and larger graphic areas. Very small text, thin lines, shadows, glows, gradients, and grayscale mask artwork are not recommended for gloss placement.

Spot Gloss Artwork Setup
Spot gloss orders require a separate mask file that identifies where the gloss should be applied. Gloss areas should be built in solid 100% black, while non-gloss areas should remain white. For clean production results, vector artwork is recommended for the mask file, especially for logos, typography, borders, and sharp graphic details.
